Designtech Engineering Co. is a leading designer and manufacturer of graphic displays with integrated touch screen controller. We pioneered the small, low cost graphic operator interface over ten years ago. Since then we have been growing at over 20% a year and have thousands of successful installations.

Designtech's operator panels have been used in a multitude of applications such as process control, industrial machinery, medical devices, instrumentation, kiosks, space experiments, military, vehicles (GPS) and any application requiring a GUI (graphic user interface).

The Concept:

The GTC provides a complete operator interface in a compact, easy to integrate module.

We reduce your system development to 3 quick and easy steps:

  1. Create graphic screens with PC paint brush or library functions on any PC using our easy development software.
  2. Down load into flash onboard GTC.
  3. Attach and program host computer.

One of the areas that separates us from other graphic panel display products is our powerful command line interpreter that resides in the firmware in every GTC. The heart of the system is the ability to load "canned" graphic screens and script files into the on board flash. These screens and/or graphic items can be simply recalled and displayed by sending a small simple ASCII string to the serial port. You can also do live real time commands as well. The result is very quick and easy software development to generate graphics and touch buttons.

This makes for a very powerful intelligent display/touch screen module which executes and generates its own graphics and touch responses on board. It doesn't tie up your main computer/software executing time and removes labor and time intensive graphic creation. This highly intelligent operator display system allows your computer to attend to more important items such as data logging and controlling your machine or instrument.

It allows your main "computer" to be a very simple inexpensive micro. All you need is 2 pins for a serial port (Rx and Tx) to control a very large complicated graphic w/touch screen operator panel. This significantly reduces the cost of your main computer. In many cases a several hundred dollar 386/486/586 embedded PC type computer can be replaced with a five dollar PIC micro. You will never need to be tied down to or have to generate difficult graphics through a PC bus ever again.

Custom design : We also provide custom design services for display control boards along with LCD interfaces and control system software. Our extensive experience with various embedded controllers IC's and LCD controller IC's and immense hardware/software library allows a design project that could take years and cost well over a $100,000.00 plus reduced to a few weeks and a small design charge in many cases. We supply customers with geber and source code files and/or do the complete manufacturing of product.
